Soma
A lunisolar calendar that breathes with the moon.
Shukla to Krishna. Amavasya to Purnima.
Time as raga. Breath as rhythm.
The App Thesis
A Calendar That Breathes
Every calendar on your phone is a grid. A utility. A spreadsheet dressed in thinner type. They show you what day it is, but they cannot tell you what the day feels like. They are precise. They are dead.
Soma is not a utility. It is a raga - a melodic framework that unfolds in time, defined as much by the silences between notes as by the notes themselves. The lunar month is its composition: Shukla Paksha, the waxing half, builds tension toward Purnima, the full moon, then releases through Krishna Paksha back into the quiet of Amavasya. Each phase has a rasa - a mood. Soma renders that rasa, not the grid.
The background deepens at Amavasya and lifts at Purnima. The typography breathes with the phase. The moon itself is always present - not as decoration, but as the interface's primary navigation. You glance at Soma and you know, immediately, where the moon is and what the day asks of you.
There is no notification noise. No infinite scroll. No gamified streaks. Soma is a labor of love for people who want their tools to have soul - who would rather feel a day than manage it. It is software that respects the patient rhythms of the natural world. It is, in the truest sense, a calendar that breathes.
